A topologist would say that the number of enclosed areas in the written shapes of 64 is 1, and in 80 there are 3. Also, you can complete both numbers in 80 with a single penstroke starting at any point each, while 64 requires an extra penstroke for the 4 and the line of 6 starts and ends at defined points.

than 64: the sum of the integer divisors of 64 is 63, less than 64, but the sum of the integer divisors of 80 is 88 which is greater than 80.
